Sara Leishman Interview
Sarah Leishman is the Executive Director of the Calgary Folk Music Festival. Born and raised in Calgary, she aspired to work in the arts from a young age. She received a BA in Communication & Culture from the University of Calgary, and successfully completed the Rozsa Arts Management and Executive Arts Leadership programs through the Haskayne School of Business. A long-time board member of CKUA Radio, Leishman previously worked as Manager of Donor Relations for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra before joining Calgary Folk Fest as Director of Development in 2010. In her role as Executive Director, she has transformed the four-day Folk Fest’s structure, turning it into a year-round organization with initiatives such as Block Heater and the Festival Hall performance space.
