A. Day

Artist Info
A. Day

Unfortunately, there exists virtually no documented information about the little-known English piano manufacturer A. Day. That being said, it is likely that A. Day was part of a group of small piano manufacturers that emerged in England in the late nineteenth century. These pianos – almost always vertical pianos – were characterized by inexpensive materials and construction, and were meant to appeal directly to the rising lower and middle classes at a time when the piano was becoming increasingly more domesticized. As with most manufacturers of birdcage pianos, it is likely that A. Day was based in London.
