Artifact TypeJacket
Date1987

lang wore this sparkling blue and green jacket at the 1987 JUNO Awards in Toronto, where she won “Country Female Vocalist of the Year” for her second album, Angel With a Lariat. Once owned by country music legend Hank Snow, lang also wore this second-hand jacket on a 1988 cover of Chatelaine—a Canadian women’s lifestyle magazine—which named her “Woman of the Year”.  To her chagrin, the magazine photoshopped lipstick onto her face, which she had purposefully left makeup-free. In the later video for her single “Miss Chatelaine”, lang wore a ballgown, poking fun at the magazine’s attempt to feminize her famously androgynous style.
